And that's a wrap! I will check back this weekend and answer any stragglers, but thanks for the great time!.

Proof I am a GOD: https://twitter.com/DC_Douglas/status/840013408435032064

Q:

Douglas Commander. Does this unit have a soul?

A:

Send me a picture of your unit and I'll give it my best guess...

Q:

It was embarrassing to see one's favorite character abused by that writing. Bioware really went downhill when Drew left.

A:

And that's a wrap! I will check back this weekend and answer any stragglers, but thanks for the great time!

Q:

My best friend had been interested in voice acting for years but lacked any means of getting started. What are some tips as far as necessary starting equipment, portfolio pieces, etc. that would recommend to him or people like him who are starting without background?

I'd also like to take a moment to thank you for being the most wonderful asshole I've ever met, seeing you at the 2016 Kumoricon in Oregon was amazing. 💞

A:

Asshole??? 🤔 Uh... Thanks?

As for your friend, too long an answer for here. See this.

Q:

With a character like Legion how do you/sound techs decide they have a good voice take? I suppose part of the question is, how much post processing is required to turn your voice into that sort of character's?

A:

The processing is way after I have recorded. For Mass Effect, it was always about the acting/emotion/truth of the read. And Ginny McSwain is a great director!

Q:

How complex are your motives, generally?

Okay, no, I'm just kidding, I couldn't resist the Zero Escape reference.

I heard a rumor that you used to read Resident Evil fanfiction at conventions before Capcom stopped it, but I've heard two different takes on it: you're allowed to do it, you just can't have Capcom titles/characters in the name of the event, or you're just not allowed to do it at all anymore.

Which is correct? I'm curious as to whether I have the chance to ever hear such awesomeness at a convention.

A:

Please see Sean Spicer for the actual answer. In the meantime, see me at your local con on a Saturday night when I'm doing an Erotic Fanfic Show... And come cosplaying as an RE character. 😜

Q:

What was your initial reaction to being recruited as Legion in Mass Effect?

A:

I didn't know the game. And my reaction to all gigs is "Thank God. Mortgage is due!"

But meeting Ginny McSwain was a real treat. Such a fast, sharp and funny lady. They played me a teaser video and explained that this was the first time the Gets would speak so I got it was going to be a big deal.

Speaking of which, here was my call back audition.

Q:

Do you find it hard to play video games that you've had a role in?

A:

I find it hard to play video games period! Lol!

Q:

Mr. Douglas. When you were recording for UMBRELLA CORPS, did the lines of your dialogue hinting at Wesker's return make you hopeful that you might be able to play Wesker again in the future?

A:

Yup!

And they say it is canon... I even recorded a paragraph that hinted heavily about my demise being too soon... But they didn't use it in the game... Fingers crossed.

Q:

Is it true you have no body hair?

A:

LOL!!! Not exactly. (LOOK AT MY FACE!) But I have it in very limited fashion... Which really helps with swimming, not smelling after a week without showering, and for cocoa butter massages.

Q:

RyuuYouki from Twitter verse here!

First, I just wanna say how freaking awesome you are! I looked you up after finding my love for the character Albert Wesker and instead I found a very inspiring individual with a sassy sense of humor. You've inspired me with your actions and support of women, the LGBT community and more. I've dealt with some messed up things in my life and have some major mental health issues. Your courage to use your voice to stand up against all this crazy mess with the government and oppression has helped me through some really tough days. It may seem sappy, but there have been days when it doesn't seem worth it anymore, but then you post some silly video or comment and it makes me smile. So thank you for that.

NOW, that being said. I see you have a lovely pussy. I have one too. Wanna swap photos? Don't worry, I'll share first ;) <= Warning! Not an actually vagina! Sorry guys!

A:

That is very sweet of you to say. But it's always worth it. Not much excitement for you before you were born, so why not keep going to see what the wondrous drama of life brings next? 😉

My pussy is all over the internet - but check out my twitter.

Q:

What are some of your favorite voice actors/actresses to collaborate with?

A:

I love SOOOOO MANY folks! But I have to say, the cast of Transformers: Rescue Bots is the best. I love those people. Hopefully we get a fifth season... (If you liked it, maybe let Hasbro/Discovery Family know?)

Q:

Did you know what you were getting into when you accepted the role of Wesker? Or were you the John Hurt of the Doctor Who Universe(didnt know til after)?

A:

The latter. Lol! Read this.

Q:

so, uh, are you and capcom going to stop teasing us and tell us if wesker is alive or nah?

thanks for doing this ama btw.

A:

Here's the weird thing about that. I only know what you guys know... But I voiced Wesker last year for this game. and they have been quoted as saying the game is canonical... So YOU tell ME!

Q:

Is this AMA still going?

A:

I THINK SO?

Q:

Alright then so after watching that video (Which didn't blind me, don't put yourself down!) , best and worst drunken experiences?

A:

All the best ones become the worst in the morning... 😜

Q:

As someone working on his ability to voice act I gotta ask.

How hard was it to finally get enough jobs to be able to enjoy a stable life financially? It is rather rough to start off and hearing these types of stories.

Btw, I am playing through Fire Emblem Revelations, and all I gotta say is I love you and fuck you.

A:

Lol re FER!

It's ALWAYS hard to make a living. There are good years and hard ones. It took me from 1985 until 2002. Haven't had a survival job since, but this year started off pretty anemic! It's never ending...

Q:

[deleted]

A:

I have no idea but fingers crossed. Maybe their getting lots of requests from fans...?😜

Q:

What does DC stand for?

A:

Domestically Challenged.

Q:

Oh boy, did I arrive late to the party? What sucks is I even set up a notification that went off at 5:30 pm but then I got ridiculously busy.

I finally got to meet you in person on August 18, 2016, at the Isle of the Dead premiere in Los Angeles. I couldn't speak for the life of me and my heart was racing. You truly are a God amongst men. The whole experience was amazing and I'm really hoping you'll do another event like that.

What I came to say is you made me fall in love with Albert Wesker in Resident Evil 5. You don't know how many times I re-played the campaign and got to enjoy your voice. I ended up following you on twitter and have loved every minute since. I feel like you regularly like and reply to some of my tweets to you, sometimes you even give me a retweet! It's a great feeling. I appreciate that you're so close to your fans.

Question. Maybe I haven't been paying attention to your con schedule over the years but it seems you rarely do appearances in California. Am I correct in assuming this? Cos I'm from SoCal and would hate myself for missing an opportunity to have met you sooner.

A:

Awww, thanks for the kind words! And, yeah, never any cons in LA for me... Though I'd love to get booked for a Vegas one!

Q:

Thank you for spending more than seven minutes of your gracious time! :) Do you have a favourite ice cream?

A:

Twix Ice Cream! 600 calories for a pint (instead of 1300 for Ben & Jerry's) and it tastes like HEAVEN!
