Q:

On a personal level, what are a few of your favorite films?

A:

Punch Drunk Love, Casino and Goodfellas

Q:

What is it like composing for video games as opposed to other media? Do you approach them differently?

A:

Video games are different in that a lot of times you are providing music that kind of floats in the background and has to loop as the character walks around etc.. Working on a film or TV show you are working to a locked picture and you are hitting cuts etc. There is some of this in video games (cut scenes) but most of it is loopable music that sits in the background as you play.

Q:

What have been your favorite projects to work on and why?

A:

Dexter was definitely one of my favorites. I was so lucky to be able to work on such a groundbreaking show. It was really cool working on the Silent Hill video games because I got to learn about the video game world. It was a cool experience and being someone who loves playing video games it was a great experience being a part of that process.

Q:

Having been involved with Dexter, how upset were you with how it ended?

A:

I definitely thought it could have done better. I'd say I was like a 6/10 on the upset scale.

Q:

What is your favorite type of sandwich?

A:

Peanut butter and banana. What about you?

Q:

Would you say it was more of a challenge to work on horror like Silent Hill? Or fantasy like Dishonored?

A:

I think it's hard to say what's more challenging...horror or fantasy. They both are challenging in different ways I'd say. Although fantasy might provide more of an opportunity to have more diversity in the music. So that might make it more difficult. Both have their own unique set of challenges I would say.

Q:

I know you collaborate(d) with your brother, what does he do, music wise?

A:

Dan is my uncle. He's a composer and has been for the past 30 or so years. Check out his website to see what he's been up to. www.danlicht.com

Q:

What was your favorite moment while working on Dexter?

A:

When I got to be in the wedding band in the season 4 finale. I'm playing bass.
