Top Customerservice Reddit IAmA's The latest Customerservice IAmA's collected from Reddit Customer ServiceIAmA Flight attendant that’s been stuck on the snowy tarmac for the last 3.5 hours with irate Newark passengers. AMA As air travel goes, snow has messed everything up tonight. In the last 3 hours, I’ve given out countless waters, juices, sodas, cookies, pretzels, just to try to alleviate the frustration on the ground tonight (I know it doesn’t do much, but it’s all I can do)

I’ve answered countless “do you think we’re gonna make it out tonight” “are we gonna cancel?” questions with “I’m sorry, I only know as much as you do right now”

We waited forever to get our aircraft de-iced. Then while in queue, too much snow got on the wings, so we had to go and get de-iced again. Waited in line for that. Now, we have to go back to the gate because our pilots are going to go illegal (time out and unable to work after being on duty for a certain amount of time)

So these people are pissed. And i’m stuck on here and bored. AMA.

*edit: This blew up. Not ignoring! Still on the plane. We taxi'd back to the gate about a half hour ago, all pax had to get off and go to customer service. Shows that we're still leaving tonight and will arrive at destination at around 3 AM. Fun times. Chillin on the plane now and whipped my laptop out to try to answer some Q's. Waiting to see when we'll be boarding.

What is Sia?

Sia is a fully open source cloud storage platform that is user-focused and completely decentralized. Sia exists through a blockchain-based marketplace that allows users to discover and connect to storage providers to store their data. Instead of giving data to just a single provider, the data is split up, encrypted, and then redundantly stored across dozens of storage providers. This means that no individual storage provider has any amount of control over the data. From day 1, the user has the power. A blockchain also means that there is no central company controlling the prices, and no terms-of-service or unfriendly privacy policies. It's a revolutionary way to put your data in the cloud.

Customer ServiceIamA former Dominos UK customer service representative, Here to take your orders and answer your questions. AMA! EDIT 2PM ET: Thanks everybody! Got to sign off! Catch you on the air! --Tom

I wake up at 4:58 a.m. Monday through Friday to get ready for my show. On Point is a national live call-in show, and we’re on the air from 10AM to 12PM ET. We produce the show at WBUR in Boston.

A few things you may not know about me? I was a dynamiter in Alaska’s oil fields back in the day. I produced Chinese kung fu films out of Hong Kong. And my current job with NPR started as emergency coverage of the attacks on September 11, 2001.

Before On Point, I was a foreign correspondent, newspaper editor, and writer. I spent 10 years in Asia —India, Hong Kong and Japan — starting at the South China Morning Post, then as a correspondent for the Boston Globe. I started my reporting career covering the refugee exodus from Vietnam and the post-Mao opening of China.

What else? I was raised on a farm in Illinois. I studied American history at Yale and Gandhi’s independence movement at Andhra University, India. I love rhubarb.

Here's a link to On Point:

A few of my favorite guests: Annie Leibovitz: Peter Drucker: Jewel: Bill Russell:

Customer ServiceIamA Former Butler in Las Vegas. I Served Prince For Almost A Year in 2006-2007 AMA! I worked at the Rio All Suite and Casino in Las Vegas as a butler in their private Palazzo Suite villas from 2005-2008. I was one of the 15 butlers who serviced the high rollers and celebrities that stayed in their suites. Prince preformed in the Rio at Club 3121 from November 2006 to April of 2007. He lived in one of the suites and I would service his room as needed along with the other butlers.

Not much proof I can offer but a photo of me as a butler with Sir Elton John

Me now, 10 years later

Kept one of the tuxedo jackets

Thank you for all of your questions and I had such a fun time answering them. Though I am going off air to get some sleep, please feel free to still ask and I will answer them tomorrow sometime. Rest in peace Prince.

Good Night Yall :)

I have to go to work now but keep asking away and I will get to them tonight if you're interested. Thanks

Customer ServiceIamA Movie Theater Employee, and I've seen the dirty part of the movie business. AMA! I've worked at a 10 screen movie theater for over two years and I've seen some shit. I saw a guy have a seizure during a movie, I've found over $50 cleaning theaters, I have kicked out loud teenagers, I have caught (many) couples having sex in theaters and the bathroom, and I make the best popcorn in the world. Ask me anything!

PROOF: (One of our giant digital projectors) (The screen of the projector) (me in my adorable uniform & bowtie lol)

EDIT: Thanks y'all for caring so much about my job and my stories.. I'll be back again tomorrow. Hopefully with popcorn. :)

EDIT: please don't take out your local-movie-theater anger on me. My theater is run very smoothly and besides my entertaining stories of rude customers or crazy teenagers, we don't have that many problems/complaints. So please don't yell at me about your local cinema not enforcing the no cell phone rule or anything. There's really, honestly, NOTHING I can do for you.

LAST EDIT I SWEAR: Guys, this is my first reddit account and first post. I'm REALLY sorry if I miss a question or answer one the wrong thread, I'm a newbie.

Customer ServiceI am a UPS Store Manager! I've noticed quite a few AMAs for the drivers, but it seems nobody from store-side mustered up the courage to do one!! I make sure that your packages get to their destinations safely. I advise on best packing methods and work on print related materials. I was a graphic and web designer by trade before that.

I may not see or respond to all of your questions as fast as you may like; I'm on a mobile device for now. If I miss yours and you want it answered, shoot it to me via PM! I'll even post the answer on the thread, if requested. :)

Proof? Heres me behind my counter:

I also am a fan of dem vidya games. My favorites of all time include: Starcraft, Chivalry, Skyrim, Super Mario Bros 3, Battlefield BC/BC2/3, FTL, and ToriBash.

EDIT:: OKAY I've been at it for four hours. I tried to hit everyone!! I'm going to go sleep!!

I will resume answering after I have breakfast tomorrow!!!!

Customer ServiceIamA Comcast customer account Executive AMA! Well I've been working for comcast (or as many Americans know them "The Devil") the last 2 and a half years on many different campaigns (I'm talking billing, retention, sales, tech support, etc.) The campaign I am currently in is one that has me do all that at the same time for VIP accounts in the whole West coast of the United States. I have seen and heard about everything I am stationed offshore and I am pretty sure I'll soon be getting fired. I was born in Mexico and later traveled to Canada at a pretty early age so I do speak English without any traces of an accent. So feel free to ask me anything from personal experiences to comcast products and stuff.

*My Proof * Also I'll be sending out a copy of my employee ID to a mod.

IamA (well, was a) Comcast Call Centre Rep for 5 years AMA! My short bio: I worked for Comcast for 5 years in inbound support. I did everything from billing inquiries to tech support for cable, internet and phone. I have a decent knowledge of the inner workings, at least at a call-centre level. A couple of years ago I was laid off (as Comcast was outsourcing most of the jobs to the Phillipines), got Second Career (a government program that pays for you to go back to school if you meet certain criteria), went back to school and became a Law Clerk and now love my job :-D

I figured with all the drama surrounding Comcast's customer service recently, I could offer some perspective from the inside, and on how we're trained, etc.

IamA Former TWC Tier 3 employee, and I know a surprising amount about the company and what to do when you have an issue with your ISP. AMA! I worked for Time Warner Cable as a Tier 3 tech support/CSR rep for about 2 years. Although I left the company, I loved my job and I knew a surprising amount about different situations and problems customers could have. After all, my job was to be the smartest and best person a customer could speak with to get complex problems solved. I made a post in a semi-related thread and got a decent amount of attention and a request to do an AMA, so here I am. Ask away.

My Proof: Here is a PDF of my bill showing employee priced internet and cable boxes. ($24.00/month for 30/5 internet and every single channel including premiums and foreign language was probably the best part about working for TWC.)

Edit: 1:21 PM EST, I'm taking a break for lunch, and I'll try to answer more questions in an hour or two.

Edit 2: 3:20 PM EST, gonna be signing off for today. I answered a lot more questions than I thought. I still may touch on a few extra questions later tonight here and there when I can. Thanks everybody, this was extremely fun.
