RetailIamA Mate (manager) at Trader Joe's!! Ask me anything :) http://www.topiama.com/r/4329/iama-mate-manager-at-trader-joes-ask-me-anything I work at Trader Joe's and love every minute of it. Feel free to ask questions about products, how the store works, why we are so awesome, money, about the job etc.. anything you want.

http://imgur.com/1kF5hKn My collection of shirts (I have more that are being cleaned) and my name tag.

Edit: To answer some quickies:

Yes the job pays well, but yes it is hard work. Boxes come in up to 40 lbs and we are moving several hundred throughout the day. Yes, employees get a crew discount on all products. Yes the people are really, genuinely happy to work there. Yes the parking lots suck.

IamA Amazon warehouse returns associate. I process the things you were not satisfied with. Ask away! http://www.topiama.com/r/3011/iama-amazon-warehouse-returns-associate-i-process Hello, reddit. I process returned merchandise that you didn't like. Please, ask me a question and I'll answer it, at least within the best of my ability.

You guys had some great questions last time! Hopefully I have more experience under my belt to better answer more of them. People like you keep us alive, and for that, I'm grateful for my position. That's why I treat every return as if you were speaking to me personally.

I won't lie, sometimes it's hard work, and I can get annoyed with obvious fibbers, but sometimes people honestly received a B.S item and want their money back understandably. As my orientation video stated, we are absolutely obsessed with customers and will do anything in our absolute power to get you your money back in a timely fashion.

There is a person on the other side of your return comments. If I'm processing your return, you can rest assured at least one associate is reading them.

Again, ask away.

EDIT: one thousand apologies to the thread. I had an emergency I had to take care of, and when I started this AMA, I had gotten off an 11 hour shift. I'm up, have a cocktail ready, it's my day off, and I'm going to answer your questions. again. Sorry!

edit: proof http://i.imgur.com/zjS1ra2.jpg

My last AMA was taken down because I didn't provide proof in a reasonable amount of time. Sorry about that. It's open again, and I'm only linking it to show which questions were asked. I was Okay-ed to submit another one, so that way users who might not have seen it can.

http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/2fn77u/iama_amazon_warehouse_returns_associate_i_process/

edit: I don't expect this thread to "boom", just honestly figured I would clear up things. It's fun for me. It has slowed down, so I'm going to play Twilight princess and check the thread periodically. I know it's an old game, but I bought it yesterday and never played it! So if you're reading this, consider this thread open indefinitely. I'll answer your question. I promise.

edit: answering questions still in my inbox! Please give me a chance, I'll get to your question as soon as I can. You guys have some good ones!

Just want to add that my opinions do not reflect that of Amazon. I'm just one worker.

edit: phew, I've been answering questions for a straight hour! I'll keep at it, please don't take it personal if I don't get to yours right away!

IamA Walgreens "photo specialist", and I've seen some s***... AMA http://www.topiama.com/r/2992/iama-walgreens-photo-specialist-and-ive-seen-some proof: http://imgur.com/4rtT6eI

I've been working for the company since February of 2010, 3 stores total. I've witnessed things from totally nude photos coming it to people aged 6 to 70 popping on the floors..

I've since worked up to "photo specialist" from my original position as store clerk and am willing to answer your questions. I've rung up lots of odd people and had conversations with some of the higher ups of Walgreens. I've got lots to tell, so ask me anything!

Edit: WOW. This AMA blew up bigger than I could have ever imagined. Front Page, 2600 karma, and I was gifted with gold in 3 different comments. Can someone take some screen shots of the front page for the memories?

Thanks strangers. Reddit is awesome. If any other questions are posted, I'll get back to them as soon as I can.

Also, in the interest of saving face, I'd like to add that I do not represent Walgreens and the statements and opinions posted belong to me. Not the company.

I work for Amazon at one of their largest fulfillment centers. AMA about their warehouse. Except their fantastic plan of taking over the world. http://www.topiama.com/r/2578/i-work-for-amazon-at-one-of-their-largest Hello all. I currently work at one of Amazon's fulfillment centers. The warehouse is the largest in the country at over 1 million square-feet and we're one of the top warehouses in Amazon's network. I've been with the company for a year now and have worked in every department, except for the ship dock.

People on a different subreddit have asked me to submit an AmA and even asked me about the Radiolab podcast titled "Brown Box". Feel free to ask any question you would like. I'll try my best to answer all of your questions.

I've submitted proof to the mods last night about my employment. I'll see if they can post a comment verifying proof.

EDIT: I honestly didn't think it would blow up this much. I'll post up answers to the typical questions.

-What's the worst combination of items packed and shipped? I would say the sex toys mixed with children products. I packed 5 sex toys ranging from a black fist to a pink bullet. The last item packed in was a Dora the Explorer backpack.

-What's the worst part about the job? I would say stowing items since there's hardly any room in the bins. We have a bin etiquette that we have to think of when stowing items. No placing products behind other products, small items can't be placed in large bins, etc. Having to do that and keep up with a high rate is pretty tough.

EDIT 2: To certain people asking about questions that I can't answer. I'm sorry in advance. I would like to keep my job while answering as many questions as I can.

EDIT 3: People asking questions about lawsuits in the US and other countries. Every warehouse varies. All I know is that the FC that I work for is running great and almost every employee loves working there. I definitely can't speak for other warehouses in other countries because of different laws and European countries having a union standard.

FINAL EDIT: Sorry, everyone. This will be it for me. My butt is hurting, I have a cold, and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 has been calling my name all morning. To the other Amazon FC employees answering questions, thank you.

FINAL FINAL EDIT: So I'm still on here due to the Reddit black hole, but I'm just not answering as many questions. Feel free to continue asking.
